The spelunks of Equi

The railway Lucca-Aulla is an historical line: it runs up along Garfagnana valley and comes down to Lunigiana, bordering from North all the Apuan Alps'range.
Our itinerary starts in  Monzone, a village born along the River Lucido. Trough Chestnuts' woods we will walk upstream to Aiola, a little tiny village on a rock  on the river's valley, and eventually to Equi Terme, the goal of our trekking.
This village lays at the foothills of the Pizzo d'Uccello (The "Peak of the Bird") and at the mouth of the Solco,fa deep fracture run by fresh waters that enter the river Lucido. We will here visit the Tecchia di Equi, an ancient repair for the paleolithic men, and trough the Buca (the Hall) we'll explore an underground environment in order to better understand the path of the water and its thermal properties.
The train in the afternoon we'll bring us back home.
